When I was in 2nd grade, we had a dress-up day where we were to dress as what we wanted to be when we grew up. Even all those years ago, I knew that I wanted to be a nurse. I have an aunt who is a successful nurse in the Miami Valley, which had a lot of influence on my desire to be a nurse. I started to help take care of my father, then my mother, then my daughter, and then my husband. Over the years I have noticed a change in attitudes toward patients. So, I decided to change that by pursuing my dream to become a nurse. Even though I am one person, it only takes one person to make a difference.
I chose to attend Hondros College of Nursing for a few reasons. The first is no waitlist, so I could start right away! The second is the class schedule, which is focused on the content needed to become a nurse. The big bonus was that I could be done with classes in just one year.
To those considering nursing, go for it. However, make sure this is your passion and that you are not just after the money!
