I decided to pursue nursing as a career when I realized I truly enjoy helping people. I am a Marvel and DC fan, and as a kid, I used to dream about flying around the city and listening to the world like Superman for anyone who needed help. As I got older, I wanted to become a physical therapist because I read a story about a kid who received prosthetic limbs. The thought of changing someone’s life after a tragic incident intrigued me. The body is full of intricate and beautiful puzzle pieces. After I got pregnant with my first child, I wanted to try nursing. I initially became a medical assistant, which I felt was close enough to nursing at the time. I loved it! Eventually, I got to a point in my life where my job as a medical assistant wasn't fulfilling my desires. I wanted to do more for the community. I took a leap of faith in Hondros College of Nursing to help me become a nurse.
What made me decide to attend Hondros College of Nursing was that I didn't feel judged. I was offered a fresh start.
To those considering nursing, remember that obstacles are a part of life, and your life is in your hands. Don't let something that doesn't exist, like fear, prevent you from becoming your best self.
