Helping people has always been a passion of mine. From a young age, I always said I wanted to be a doctor, dentist, or in the medical field in some way. The specific position I wanted constantly changed until I decided to pursue nursing. The most rewarding feeling is helping someone who cannot help themselves. I currently work at an assisted living facility and to see someone's face light up when I enter their room fills me with joy. This job has motivated me even more to pursue nursing. I cannot wait to make a change in healthcare, one patient at a time.
I decided on Hondros College of Nursing because it seemed like it had the “one-on-one” classroom style setting I was looking for. I also loved that the staff were so welcoming, and I was offered several resources before and after the admissions process. The faculty here at Hondros are some of the most educated and helpful individuals I have ever met. When initially coming into nursing school, I was very hesitant and anxious, but the other students and teachers have been very uplifting and positive in this journey.
Some advice I would give to someone thinking about nursing school is to just do it! It is never too late to change or start your career. With dedication, perseverance, and determination anyone can do this. Sometimes the thought that we are not good enough to do something is present. Stop letting that thought hold you back and do it! Each test, quiz, and assignment completed is one step closer to making your dreams become a reality. Celebrate the little things and do not give up!
