My dad is the reason I chose to pursue nursing. He was sick much of my childhood and passed away when I was 17. I've always had a passion for helping others. For the past 20 years, I've worked in healthcare. Nursing brings everything full circle for me. Working in this field you encounter a wide range of experiences. The greatest takeaway is the gratitude coming from the people you care for.
I had a few nursing friends that told me about Hondros College of Nursing. So, I took the chance to see the college for myself. The staff was very helpful regarding the numerous questions I had about the program. The success I have seen with my classmates was an inspiration for me.
Be prepared to make life changes, as you have to be completely involved and dedicated. Nursing school is not for the faint of heart, and it requires lots of discipline. A strong support system is something you need to get through as well. Remember this journey is not a race, it's a marathon. You can only focus on the lane you're in.
