My initial decision to pursue a nursing career came to a halt when I got sick to my stomach while dissecting a cat, this happened during my anatomy class in Junior College. I ended up with a business degree and worked as a financial aid administrator for over 15 years. After feeling trapped in a career for so long, I resigned and transitioned into helping families plan for retirement. When a family member needed a full-time caregiver, I was suddenly reminded of my passion for nursing. It felt very natural to care for a patient. Now I am finally on the path of my calling.
I wanted to attend Hondros College of Nursing because I liked their curriculum. Also, the opportunity to complete the program in a reasonable amount of time was a plus.
To those considering nursing, do not waste time and don’t get distracted by circumstances because they will always be there.
