HCN Success Stories

Thinking back to when I was younger, the only career I had ever considered was nursing. I have been in the healthcare field since I was 15 years old; I started working at an assisted living facility in their kitchen. From there I became an STNA and then a CCMA. Now I am an LPN at OhioHealth Physician Group Bariatric Surgery. I always knew I would be a nurse. Going back to school in my 30's as a wife and mother of my four daughters has been one of the most challenging things I have ever done.

I chose Hondros College of Nursing because they offer night classes; these are perfect for families. This way I can keep my full-time job throughout the week and attend clinicals on the weekends. The administration team have all been very understanding and supportive. I might have quit and if it wasn't for all the encouragement from the staff, administration, and professors I have received. When I feel discouraged, I am met with eager support to help inspire me do better next time. All the smiles and encouragement here help me more than words can say. I received Hondros College of Nursing’s "Clinical Excellence" award at my PN graduation and will complete their ADN program soon!

To succeed in nursing school, remember that it all comes down to effort you put in. Remember, everyone has their own experience and the friends you make will be life-long friends, so be sure to hang onto them!
