Friendships forged during nursing school can last forever. Emily Dunaway and Riley McGuire are perfect examples, strengthening their friendship through Hondros College of Nursing's Practical Nursing program, before growing that friendship further in the Associate Degree in Nursing program and as working LPNs at Sunshine Children's Home in Maumee.

I met my best friend, Emily, on the first day of orientation for the PN program, and we have stuck by each other through both programs. Studying long hours, sharing notes, and working together to chase our dreams.
I took a medical terminology class in high school accidentally and figured out it interested me. That interest combined with my passion for caring for others turned what I love into a career.
When researching schools, I was impressed by HCN's NCLEX pass rates. Attending a school with a proven track record of students passing the NCLEX is an irreplaceable feeling. I have learned so much here and created a lot of important bonds along the way.
Work hard and know that it is all worth it in the end.

I thought I wanted to be a teacher, but when COVID hit I was out of a job. An opportunity arose to work as a resident aide at a local nursing home. I was able to spend one-on-one time with residents while away from their families during the COVID lockdown. I decided to become a state-tested nurse aide and after getting encouragement from residents, families, and co-workers, I entered nursing school.
Once I decided to go to nursing school, I kept hearing ads on the radio for Hondros and then passed a billboard that said, "This is your sign." I didn't question that and enrolled at Hondros.
Nursing school is not easy! You need the desire to put in the work to be a great nurse. Make friends and study groups, and surround yourself with people who want to build you up and are willing to sacrifice time with you in the present to help you be successful later.
